Refurbished Bike Lockers at Rotherham College Campus
One of the major contributors to carbon emissions in the world is transportation. A typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year, which can be drastically reduced by shifting to a healthier and cheaper commute – cycling. Only walking and cycling are transportation methods that have a zero carbon footprint.
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is leaving no stone unturned to transform Rotherham into a carbon-neutral town. One of the initiatives is the installation of the refurbished bike lockers near the Rotherham College campus.
A team from RMBC met with Greg Bristol, Environment and Sustainability Officer at RNN Group, to communicate the benefits of bike lockers for the college and to discuss the ways cycling can be promoted for both students and staff.
