Welcome to New and Returning Students!

On the 2nd September the RNN Group, made up of Rotherham College, North Notts College and Dearne Valley College welcomed back students on their first day of term as we kicked off our Welcome Week.

Learners, both new and returning, jumped head first into a week full of fun activities and exciting initiatives from guest speakers, sports competitions and treasure hunts.

Every lunch time they had the opportunity to take part in table tennis, retro gaming and had the chance to see some fantastic student performances.

Art students had the chance to go on an educational trip to Hepworth Gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park with their new classmates to gain inspiration for their upcoming projects and get to know each other during their first week of term.

The week ended with our annual Colour Run at Dearne Valley College where learners from across the Group attended to have fun and get messy.

As Welcome Week ends, the RNN Group is gearing up for an exciting and productive academic year. The wide range of events and activities during this week served not only as a warm welcome to new and returning students, but also as a reminder of the supportive, inclusive and diverse community that they are now a part of.

But it doesn’t end there. As the academic year unfolds, Rotherham College will continue to provide learners with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive academically and personally.
