Student Excels as Star Pupil
Proud mother of three girls, Nikki Fox, chose to set a good example for her children by returning to education at Rotherham College in April 2018.
When her girls all went to school Nikki decided to use her new free time to work towards a personal goal. She had toyed with the idea of returning to education before but finally worked up the courage to start an Employability course to learn new skills and work towards a career.
Currently working during match days at Rotherham United in hospitality, her goal is to build on this by gaining full-time employment in a hospitality job by completing a Hospitality qualification with College next year alongside GCSE English and Maths.
Nikki took part in various activities during her course to improve her confidence, skills, teamwork, practising job searches and taking part in mock interviews with tips and feedback. She also took part in a sports day activity and attended an end of year award ceremony where she was awarded ‘Star Pupil’.
Nikki said, “I wasn’t expecting to get ‘Star Pupil’, the course has been really good and I’d definitely recommend it to others. I’m most proud of the confidence to come back to college, you’re never too old to go back and learn something new.
“I want to be a good role model for my children, make some new friends along the way and achieve my career goals.”
