Rotherham College and UCR Attended Rotherham Healthcare Career Event at Rotherham Hospital
Representatives from Rotherham College and University Centre Rotherham (UCR) attended the Rotherham Healthcare Career event held at Rotherham General Hospital. The events were split over two-days, with day one aimed at the general public and day two aimed at local school leavers.
The Rotherham Healthcare Career event is designed for those interested in starting a career in the healthcare industry. Those interested attended the event to develop a better understanding of healthcare options available and how these can be accessed through different types of study. Attendees could find out about the different further and higher education courses available to them offered at both Rotherham College and UCR. Rotherham College and UCR offered interactive activities and advice from tutors and College representatives.
Jenny Allen, Programme Leader for Health and Social Care said “the Healthcare Career event has been really successful. We have had lots of students approach us interested in a career in the health sector and eager to find out about the different pathways available to them.”
Lisa Robinson, Health and Social Care tutor said “The event has been really interactive. It’s been great to link in with other organisations who provide education in specific specialities of the healthcare industry, such as dietetics and nutrition.
“There has been lots of interest in both the Further Education and Higher Education courses. For students wishing to study at degree-level, having University Centre Rotherham on their doorstep is a convenient and cost-effective choice whilst receiving a top class degree.”
