Rotherham College Students Showcase Talent

27 May 2016

On the evening of Friday 20th May, students from Rotherham College hosted a show at the Old Market Gallery in Rotherham.

Students that have been studying fashion, graphic design, art and design at university-level have created an exhibition and fashion show as a way to showcase all their hard work.

The event was fully funded for by the students carefully constructing a funding bid for the O2 Think Big funding programme which aims to help “young people bring their ideas to life”.

Each month the programme gives out £300 to the successful bidder. Their application detailed how much the exhibition and show would help Rotherham town as it is known for being a gallery town and also with the students studying higher education courses, it promotes the town as being rich in educational resources.

A number of local retailers that have been heavily involved in Rotherham’s recent regeneration, Twisted Sister, La Bella Lingerie, Wed2Be, Patchwork Pig and Yella Brick Road, sponsored the event and helped with prizes for the prize draw that was done in aid of the Master Cutler Challenge for St. Luke’s and Rotherham Hospice. Guests weren’t charged an entry fee but were asked to take part in the draw to help raise money for very worthy local charities.

The exhibition will be open to the public and will run from 24th May up until the 1st June (except for Mondays) from 10.30am
