Rotherham College Arts Students Collaborate Their Creative Talents for Fashion Show Fundraiser
Rotherham College degree students from Popular Music Performance and Production are collaborating with their peers from Fashion and Textiles to bring you “The Walk of Life.” The event will showcase iconic fashion throughout the decades accompanied by live music from each era. The event will also include charity fundraising and additional live music from a variety of local talent.
Olivia Greenwood is a degree-level music student and along with her classmates they will stage the event in aid of Kidney Care UK. Olivia chose the charity because she received a kidney transplant just over a year ago which was her second procedure after her first failed.
Olivia comments “For three years, from 2013 until 2016, I dialysed three times a day. It took over my life and unless you have personal experience of kidney failure or dialysis you just can’t appreciate how unwell you are. I wanted to give something back to Kidney Care UK as whenever I needed help the charity was there for me. Whether I needed help planning holidays or travelling while on dialysis, or had questions that my GP or renal team couldn’t answer, I was always able to get the information I needed from Kidney Care UK.”
Robert Hope, Head of Fundraising at Kidney Care UK, adds: “As a charity we receive no government funding so we rely on the kind generosity of the supporters like Olivia and her colleagues and it is an honour to hear that we have been able to provide her with help and support at a time when she needed it the most.”
The event will take place at The Trades in Rotherham on Thursday 22nd March starting at 7.30pm. Tickets to the show are priced at £4.50 and can be purchased on the door or in advance from:
