Rotherham College Student Takes Silver at Worldskills Competition

18 December 2024

Rotherham College, part of the RNN Group, which also includes North Notts College, Dearne Valley College and University Centre Rotherham, is proud to announce that Theo Battersby has secured the silver medal in Catering and Jamiee Medley has secured 8th place in Media Make-up at the recent Worldskills Competition and Awards.

The WorldSkills Competition is a globally recognised event, celebrating the talent, dedication, and skill of students and apprentices from across the UK and beyond. This year’s competition featured top-tier participants across numerous vocational subjects, showcasing the future leaders of industry.

Theo took home the silver by presenting a delicious brunch of blueberry muffins and eggs benedict, which was all gluten free and Jamiee’s look in the ‘commercial makeup’ category earned her 8th place out of the whole country!

The students excelled in their respective categories demonstrating both technical expertise and innovative thinking. Both students dedicated countless hours to perfecting their craft and the ability to perform under pressure. Their success reflects their unwavering commitment to achieving their goals and is an inspiration to students everywhere.

Upon their return to college, Theo and Jaimee were both presented with their own awards from CEO, Jason Austin, for their tremendous efforts and for representing the college in such a fantastic way.
