Performing Arts Students Rehearse Play by BAFTA-Nominated Writer
On Wednesday 21st & Thursday 22nd February our students will perform the world premiere of a play called [BLANK] by BAFTA award nominated Alice Birch, before the performance is taken to Sheffield Theatres on Thursday 22nd March.
[BLANK] is a play based on children needing to be adults, and what life is like when adults feel absent from the system; the children who are inevitably left behind and become unacknowledged victims of crime.
Owen Lawrence, a Level 3 student and actor in the play said, “we’ve all enjoyed being part of the play because it’s tested all of our skills; we have also had some difficulties with re-casting roles, but apart from that the performance is really coming together.”
Aniela Ripley, also an actress in [BLANK] added, “we’ve had a choice of around 100 different scenes to interpret and develop our characters in, which has made the project all the more exciting! After I leave Rotherham College I hope to break into the TV and entertainment industry, and its opportunities like this that will prepare me for a successful career.”
