Our Students Amazing Art at Rotherham Railway Station #northernassist
Recently, our students at Rotherham College and University Centre Rotherham have worked with the National Rail to create art work inspired by Rotherham to feature at the train station platforms.
As an incentive to work with young people, the National Rail is creating fantastic opportunities to showcase art students hard work at their railway stations. Engaging with the local communities and bringing art into the station.
Our art students at Rotherham have created 16 pieces of individual art to be featured throughout and will be put forward for the National Community Rail Award next year for their contribution.
Here is a selection of the work created this year
Richard Issac, the Regional Community and Sustainability Manager for North East Region, tasked our students with this project, he stated that,
‘The project has been brilliant and we want it the be an annual project for the group. We are really pleased with what it has done for the station, creating conversation around art and celebrating Rotherham as a place. The students have taken iconic images from across the region and brought it into the station.‘
