Graphic Design Student’s Artwork Chosen for Mayor’s Christmas Card
Izzy Taylor, 17, a talented second-year Level 3 Graphic Design student at Rotherham College, has triumphed in the South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard’s annual Christmas card competition.
Her winning design, featuring the much loved Yorkshire pudding, impressed judges with its creativity and festive spirit, and will represent the region this holiday season.
The Mayor, Oliver Coppard, said:
“I’m really pleased to share with you the design for my official Christmas card this year, created by the wonderfully talented Isabelle.
“Thanks to her and all the other students who submitted their work.
“Isabelle’s design will now feature on the Christmas cards I send this year and I’m very proud to send her South Yorkshire design far and wide.”
Not only will her design feature on the Mayor’s Christmas cards this year, but Izzy was also awarded £250 worth of vouchers to spend on art supplies.
When asked about her win, Izzy said:
“I’m quite shocked that I’ve won, you never enter into something expecting to win, but I’m so happy that my design is going to be seen by so many people.
“I wanted to include something that everyone would easily recognise. Yorkshire puddings are really popular, not just in South Yorkshire but all across the UK.
“I like to be creative, to follow a brief and then figure out how I can interpret that creatively.”
Congratulations Izzy!
