FLEX Students Shine at Annual Celebration Coffee Morning
Last week, the FLEX department at Rotherham College held their annual celebration coffee morning, an event that brought together students, their parents and carers for a heartwarming and memorable experience.
This event, organised entirely by the students, was a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their progress and share their learning journey from the past seven weeks.
In the lead-up to the event, students took ownership of the planning process. They sent out personalised invitations to their families, baked an impressive assortment of tasty treats, and even designed creative menus.
On the day, they greeted visitors, helped with signing in, and served up delicious snacks and hot drinks.
It was truly inspiring to see the pride with which they introduced their new friends and eagerly explained the projects and tasks they had been working on during their induction.
Stephanie York, curriculum team leader in FLEX, said
“We received some wonderful feedback from parents and carers on the progress their child had made in just 7 weeks. It was great to see students introducing their new friends to their families and explaining their learning experiences.”
The event was not only a celebration of learning but also a beautiful way to foster community and connection between students, their families, and the school. The relationships and experiences shared at this event are sure to have a lasting impact.
A huge well done to all the Horizon students involved!
