Early Years and Education Department Raises £240.50 for Sunbeams Charity
The Early Years and Education department at Rotherham College has shown its dedication to making a difference by raising £240.50 for the Sunbeams charity, part of the Rotherham Hospice. This incredible effort was achieved by hosting a vibrant stall filled with goodies and activities that captured the College’s attention and support.
The stall, which was set up in the Wentworth reception, featured a variety of items for sale including toys and books, a raffle and ‘Name the Reindeer’. Students and staff worked tirelessly to ensure the stall was a success, showcasing not only their creativity but also their commitment to giving back to the community.
Sunbeams is a vital part of Rotherham Hospice, offering care and support to children and young people whose loved ones are facing life-limiting illnesses. The funds raised will contribute to the charity’s mission of providing comfort and assistance during challenging times.
The event not only raised funds but also highlighted the values of compassion and teamwork that Rotherham College instills in its students. It was an opportunity for students to engage with the wider community and learn valuable skills in organising and promoting a charitable initiative.
The childcare students extended their gratitude to everyone who supported the stall, whether by purchasing items, participating in activities, or spreading the word. Together, these efforts have made a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families supported by the Sunbeams charity.
