Amazing Achievement: Adult Learner Awarded with Bursary
Rotherham College are delighted to announce that one of our Adult Learners, Adele Boyles, has been awarded the Achievement in the Face of Adversity Bursary from the Sitwell Rotary Club.
Adele, who studied Level 3 Access to HE for Health and Science Professions at Rotherham College, has been awarded this bursary to contribute towards her higher education degree in Adult Nursing.
The bursary was prompted by the Covid-19 pandemic and is financed from an educational fund initiated by the family of Past President Dr Gurnam Basran of Rotherham Sitwell Rotary. Adele is thrilled to have completed her Access Course, as this has now enabled her to progress onto an Adult Nursing higher education course at the University of Derby. Adele spoke highly of her experience at Rotherham College and said:
“The Access Course has provided me with a really good foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare me for University.
I feel ready, and incredibly confident for my first year of University, as I have learnt so much on my Access Course.”
Daniel Stanbra, Director of Adult Education and Contracts said:
“We are all so proud of Adele in achieving this honour of a Bursary to support her further learning at University.
Here at the RNN Group, we want to see both school leavers and adults achieve their potential and success, in whatever field they choose and we are committed to supporting learners throughout their educational journey.”
