This course will build your competence in welding, you will also gain a relevant qualification that will improve your skills and career opportunities.
We have qualifications available in three separate routes: MIG, TIG or Manual Metal Arc.
- Work in our workshops with up to date industrial standard equipment
- You will gain employability skills
- The Engineering department has strong links industry with companies such as AMEY PLC, C.W Fletchers, Mayflower Engineering LTD, Fortem and Eatons
You will need an Award in Welding Skills Level 1, you will also need to demonstrate a good level of interest and commitment at your interview.

You can progress on to a Level 3 course or employment
- 16-18 year olds do not need to pay course fees
- Those aged 19 or over may not need to pay fees depending on their circumstances. Find out if you qualify.
You will need to bring your own Personal Protective Equipment to each class
